Where did I grow up?
I was born in DeRidder, Louisiana, where I lived until after kindergarten. From there, my family moved to Hammond, Louisiana, when my dad began coaching cross-country, track, and football at Southeastern Louisiana University. My mom taught elementary school, so I grew up in a home where education was highly valued. I was the oldest of 6 kids and our house was always filled with lots of friends and fun.
I attended the Southeastern University Laboratory School through 8th grade, then moved on to Hammond High School. After high school, I returned to SLU and earned a degree in Elementary Education.
I taught for 5 1/2 years in Louisiana. While attending a science conference in Florida, I met a young man from Surrey, BC, who would become my husband.
I've taught in Surrey since 1990, all but 2 of those years right here at Bear Creek.

What do I like to do?
Travel: My goal is to see as much of the world as I can!
Golf: I have about 6 years to "perfect" the game before retirement. Wish me luck!
Photography: I have a great time taking photos of my friends and family, on my vacations, and with the Video Club
photographers.
Hiking: Many of my vacations include lots of great hikes!
Reading: I got my first library card in 3rd grade and I haven't been without a good book since!
Watching classic movies: My favourites are the big musicals, comedies, and mysteries. They just don't make 'em
like they used to!
